Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls national park
- Murchison falls national park: On day 1 of 12 days Uganda gorilla trekking & wildlife safari, you will be picked up by your Uganda safari driver either from the hotel or from Entebbe international airport and be transferred to Murchison falls national park. Depending on the time, you may enjoy an option of white rhino trek trekking at Ziwa rhino sanctuary and then proceed your journey to Murchison falls national park with an enroute lunch while dinner will be at the lodge.
Day 2: Morning game drive & Afternoon boat cruise in Murchison falls national park
- Morning game drive & afternoon boat cruise: After breakfast at the lodge on day 2 of 12 days Uganda gorilla trekking & wildlife safari, meet your safari driver for a half-day game drive to view the big game and other wildlife with in the largest national park in Uganda. Amongst the wildlife seen while on a game drive includes Elephants, lions, leopards, and many more. After the game drive, you will be served with lunch at your lodge and embark on an afternoon boat cruise to view the most powerful waterfall. In case you are fit and strong, you may also enjoy a hike to summit the top of the waterfall.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale forest national park
- Murchison falls national park – Kibale forest national park: After breakfast on day 3 of 12 days Uganda gorilla trekking & wildlife safari, you check out of the lodge and start the journey to Kibale forest national park a home to 13 primate species including chimpanzees, baboons, monkeys and many more. The forest is also a home to several mammal species, bird species, butterflies and plants. You will enjoy an enroute lunch and upon arrival at the park, you will check in your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and bigodi guided nature walk
- Chimpanzee trekking & nature walk: Have a very early breakfast on day 4 of 12 days Uganda gorilla trekking & wildlife safari then be transferred to the park headquarters for chimpanzee trekking briefing and after the briefing, penetrate the forest in search of the habituated chimpanzee species for trekking. Chimpanzee trekking is a half day adventurous safari but allows just one hour of viewing chimpanzees in close vicinity. After trekking chimpanzees, you will return to your lodge for lunch and then start a guided nature walk in bigodi wetland sanctuary to encounter other species of primates, birds such as shoebill stork and different botanical species among others. Late in the evening, return to the lodge, have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
- Kibale forest national park – Queen Elizabeth national park: Enjoy a relaxed breakfast on day 5 of 12 days Uganda gorilla trekking & wildlife safari then check out of the lodge and be transferred from Kibale forest national park to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will check in for lunch and later on spend your evening at leisure or have any other activity arranged for you.
Day 6: Game drive & boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park
- Game drive & boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park: Enjoy breakfast at the lodge on day 6 of 12 days Uganda gorilla trekking & wildlife safari and be driven to kasenyi plains with in Queen Elizabeth national park where you will spend some good hours on a game drive to view several wildlife species such as mammals, birds, and butterflies, among others. After game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and then be transferred to Kazinga channel for a boat cruise as you watch the aquatic wildlife including Crocodiles, hippos among others.
Day 7: Lion tracking experience & forest walk
- Lion tracking experience: After breakfast on day 7 of 12 days Uganda gorilla trekking & wildlife safari, you will enjoy a fascinating lion tracking experience with the help of trackers and armed ranger guides. You will track the pride of lions and later on return for lunch at your lodge. Later in the evening, you will enjoy a forest walk with in maramagambo forest where you will spot several wildlife including chimpanzees, baboons, monkeys, elephants, birds, bats, snakes and many more.
Day 8: Tree climbing lions and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
- Game drive in Ishasha sector & Connect to Bwindi Impenetrable national park: Have a relaxed breakfast on day 8 of 12 days Uganda gorilla trekking & wildlife safari then check out of the lodge with packed lunchbox to spend some hours on a game drive in Ishasha sector. While driving in Ishasha sector, you will encounter the tree-climbing lions as they hung lazily in the tree branches of acacia and fig trees. After watching the tree-climbing lions, enjoy your lunch and exit Queen Elizabeth national park and be driven to Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will arrive late in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
- Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable national park: After breakfast on day 9 of 12 days Uganda gorilla trekking & wildlife safari, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking briefing with other trekkers. After the briefing, you will start trailing with in Bwindi impenetrable national park which is a home to the largest population of endangered mountain gorillas in the wild. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park lasts between 1 hour to 8 hours or even a full day. After finding the gorillas, spend a full hour with them taking photographs and learning their behaviors including breast feeding, copulating, and playing among others. Later after spending an hour with gorillas, you will return to the lodge for a relaxed evening as you wait for dinner and have a night rest.
Day 10: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park
- Bwindi impenetrable national park – Lake Mburo national park: Enjoy your breakfast at the lodge on day 10 of the safari then check out of the lodge and start the journey from Bwindi impenetrable national park to Lake Mburo national park with an enroute lunch in Mbarara city at Igongo cultural hotel. After enjoying your meal, proceed your journey to Lake Mburo national park where you will be welcomed with a cool ambiance of wildlife species and fresh vegetation cover. Proceed for lodge check-in, have a brief evening game drive, dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Walking safari & Afternoon boat cruise
- Walking safari & Boat cruise in Lake Mburo national park: Have your breakfast in the morning on day 11 of 12 days Uganda gorilla trekking & wildlife safari then head out for a walking safari with in the park. Lake Mburo national park is one of the best national parks in Uganda where several travelers enjoy a walking safari to view several wildlife species including mammals, birds, butterflies and many more. After the walking safari, return to the lodge for a lunch break and embark on an afternoon boat cruise on one of the lakes in Lake Mburo national park where you will view different aquatic mammals and birds.
Day 12: Game drive and transfer to Kampala for departures
- Departures: A relaxed breakfast will be served on day 12 of the safari, check out of the lodge and embark on a game drive with the park as you proceed and exit Lake Mburo national park for a drive back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator for photo taking and experiments. Proceed your journey to Kampala for late lunch, Kampala city tour and airport drop off for departures.
