DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN ENTEBBE

DAY 2: TRAVEL TO RWENZORI MOUNTAINS

DAY 3: STARTING THE HIKE

DAY 4: MUTINDA CAMP

The hiking team will trek through the bamboo zone, muddy and slippery soils which is a bit of a challenge to some hikers. The trekking team may take a brief refreshing break at Kalalama Camp at 3,147m and make the final trekking assault to Mutinda Camp at 3,925 meters for your second night.
DAY 5: BUGATA CAMP

From Mutinda to the next camp for the night is a mere 4.9 km ascent but this is an alpine environment and very challenging more than many places anywhere. However, the trek goes through rare land features; waterfalls, gracial lakes and one of the most startling plant cover with iconic Giant lobelias, tussock grass and everlasting flowers, the most outstanding. You will spend your third night at Bugata camp 4,062 meters.

DAY 6: BAMWANJARA PASS

From Bugata to Bamwanjara Pass is 6.2 km, starting with an ascent to the highest point of the day’s trek to 4,450 meters before making slight descent to the camp at Bamwanjara Pass 3,974 meters. The hiking to the new place traverses through long flat bogs, giant lobelias, giant groundsels with scenic views of graciers and gracial lakes. The rest camp at Bamwanjara Pass offers oustanding views of snow capped Mt. Baker’s peaks, rejuvenating the strength of conquering the Ruwenzoris. This is your place of accommodation for the fourth night of Uganda mountain hiking safari.

DAY 7: MARGHERITA CAMP

You start the hike of the day shortly after breakfast from Bamwanjara Pass (3,974 meters), ascending 4.2km to Margherita Camp (4,485 meters). Margherita Camp has clear view of Mt. Baker and glittering glaciers of Mt. Stanley giving trekkers great hope of achieving their childhood dreams of conquering the Ruwenzoris. This is the closest camp to the highest peaks for your fifth night of Uganda mountain hiking safari.

DAY 8: MARGHERITA PEAK 5.109M

There’s an urgent need to be extra calm and control the excitement of conquering the unbelievable to many travelers. This day trekking teams walk the longest distance in extremely snow, ice and harsh conditions.

Rise up at 4.30am and and make final preparations for the last to the highest peak bearing in mind you have to at Mt. Stanley before sunrise. The trek from the camp at 4,485 meters to the Margherita Peak 5,109 meters is 3.5km, then another 3.5km to Margherita Camp. DAY 10: KIHARO CAMP OR SAMALIRA CAMP

The trekking team sets off after breakfast with two safari camps of choice to spend the eighth night of hiking; Kiharo Camp (3,460 meters) or Samalira Camp (3,170 meters). Samalira camp is many trekkers choice for it is closer to the base of the mountain hiking starting point, though Kiharo camp enjoys best scenic views with unique lush vegetation.

DAY 11: WALK BACK HOTEL MAGHERITA

The final descent starts after breakfast, traversing through beautiful alpine vegetation and indigenous people homesteads crop estates. DAY 12: TRAVEL TO QUEEN ELIZABETH, SALT MINING WORKS, SWIMMING

Your Uganda safari driver will pick you up after breakfast and travel to Queen Elizabeth national park to refresh and rejuvenate your energies. Your tour into Queen Elizabeth starts with a brief visit to Lake Katwe salt mining works. You will travel to the Mweya Peninsula and refresh your lost energies.

DAY 13: GAME VIEWING SAFARI, BOAT CRUISE

Your Uganda wildlife viewing safari day begins at first light with a hot cup of coffee. Shortly, your safari guide on tour of Uganda will pick you up and travel together to explore the wilderness. You will traverse the savannas on the look out for different wildlife species. The 2-hour afternoon boat cruise brings you closest to large mammals taking a swim in the burning heat of the tropics. DAY 14: TRAVEL TO KAMPALA
