Akagera game park is an ultimate wildlife stopping location in Rwanda – home to abundant animal species including lions, elephants, rhinos and hippos among others. Summary Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park from Kigali
Transfer to Akagera; Depending on your point location in Kigali, our professional driver guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer to Akagera National Park a journey that takes about 2 hours 30 minutes inclusive the stopover along the way. Along your way, you will enjoy viewing beautiful landscape en route to the park –you can ask the guide for stopovers to capture memorable photos.
You will proceed to the park and arrive early morning go for a short game drive and after come back check into your lodge and have lunch.
After lunch, embark for boat safari on the Lake Ihema to enjoy the beauty of the lake through spotting water species like hippos, crocodiles and other animals like Elephants and Buffaloes can be seen along the shores feeding. You will also be rewarded with several birds such as the black crake, Spur winged lapwing, pied kingfisher, malachite kingfisher, Goliath Heroth, African fish eagle, African Jacana among others. Dinner and Overnight stay.
You can opt to do a night game drive.

Day 2: Game Drive in Akagera National Park
Game Drive: On your final day of the 2 Days Akagera National Park Rwanda Safari, after breakfast, go for a game drive in Akagera National park to spot the missed out animals. Drive to the park and search for the big game like elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and lots of antelope species.
Fortunately, lions and rhinos can also be seen here today. The park is a habitat for wildlife and haven for birders with more than 500 bird species in the park.
You will have to go with your packed lunch boxes along the game drive which will last about 6 hours depending on visitor’s interest before you travel back to Kigali. You will take the route along the lake which often has a variety of mammals, later take exit in the northern gate to drive back to Kigali.
