The 2 Days Chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda leads you to Nyungwe Forest National Park home to a huge number of chimpanzee individuals and a magical canopy walk. The park lies in the southwestern part of Rwanda, which sits on an area of about 1015 square kilometers-comprised of a montane rainforest type in Africa. There are over 30 habituated chimpanzees for the activity. Besides the park has 500 chimps that roam the forest. There are 13 primate species such as troops of colobus monkeys, and 300 bird species recorded. Yet the main attractions in Nyungwe include Chimpanzee tracking and a canopy walk experience. The trip starts and ends in Kigali Rwanda.

Detailed Itinerary of the 2 Days Chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda

Day 1: Depart from Kigali city and transfer to Nyungwe Forest – Canopy Walk

You will be picked up from your hotel and Airport by our professional safari driver guide, who will do a short briefing on the safari. Later drive off to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Upon arrival, retire into a booked lodge for check-in, enjoy lunch, and then go for a canopy forest walk. After an exciting canopy forest walk, head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Depart Back to Kigali

After having an early morning breakfast, you will be served your packed lunch and drinking water at the lodge. Then, transfer to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about Chimpanzee tracking rules and regulations in Rwanda. Then straightly transfer to the starting point of the trek. Thereafter, head into the forest trails in search of chimpanzees.

After finding them, not more than an hour of view and photography is permitted. Later on, head back to the start point to meet your driver or guide to head back to the lodge for checkout and drive back to Kigali for drop off at the airport or to any advised place.
