Our 3 Days Mount Karisimbi Hiking Safari offers a challenging but rewarding trek to access the summit of Rwanda’s highest peak, which sits within Volcanoes National Park. This trip involves two days of hiking and one day of travel, with the potential for gorilla trekking as an addition to your safari bucket list.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On arrival or at your hotel, you will be picked up by our expert safari driver guide to transfer to Volcanoes National Park at its park headquarters for the briefing and registration. Thereafter, start the hike in the accompany of the skilled ranger, who takes you through bamboo forests and Hagenia trees. The first day culminates at a base camp, 3,700 meters, for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Hiking Adventure
Start the day with a delicious breakfast, followed by hiking to the summit, 4,507 meters. The climb is steep and can be cold, but the panoramic views from the top are rewarding, encompassing Rwanda, Congo, and Uganda. End your day by descending back to the base camp for another night.

Day 3: Departure -Kigali/Airport
Complete the descent and transfer back to Kigali. End of the Tour.

Permits and Logistics:
