Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from and Transfer to Bwindi National Park
Transfer to Bwindi: Depending on your location in Kampala on the first day of the 3 days gorilla trekking safari in Uganda, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the Uganda safari and then start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park which takes about 8 to 9 hours’ drive inclusive a stopover at the quarter in Kayabwe for memorable photography ,view water experience and visit the craft shops around .Then proceed a drive to Mbarara with a stopover for lunch Enroute and after you shall continue to drive through beautiful country side ,rolling hills ,banana plantation among others .Upon arrival in the park you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Four Gorillas Lodge -Luxury ,Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge -Mid range
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early breakfast on the second day of the 4 days gorilla trekking safari in Uganda from Kigali, you will carry packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing you will start trekking in the jungle in search of the mountain gorillas which takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During trekking you will be able to view other primate species such as l’hoest monkeys, chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, different plant species, birds among others. Once the mountain gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to observe their habits, behaviors, watch gorillas feed, breastfeed, groom young ones, take photos and record the breathtaking moments to show people back home after the safari.
After the one-hour encounter with the gentle giants you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be rewarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your driver guide to start the journey to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale and upon arrival you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at stay at Bird nest-luxury/ Archadia Cottages -midrange or Bunyonyi eco safari lodge -budget
Day 3: Boat cruise/ canoeing
On the third day of the 4 days Bwindi gorilla trekking and Lake Bunyonyi safari, you will have breakfast and then go for an interesting canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi where you will be able to explore some of the 29 islands such as the punishment and floating islands, learn more about its history, enjoy stunning views of the scenery, landscape, terraced farmlands, different bird species among others. After the boat ride you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will have your leisure time at the lodge or hotel. Have dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 4: Transfer to Kampala
Return to Kampala: Wake up on leisurely morning and have breakfast, check out of the lodge and then meet up with your driver guide to transfer back to Kampala. On the way you will enjoy great views of countryside, terraced farmlands and upon arrival in Kampala your driver guide will drop you off at your hotel of Entebbe international airport for your departure flight depending on your flight schedule.
