Day 1 of your safari: Transfer from Kampala to Mgahinga Gorilla national park
Kampala – Mgahinga Gorilla national park: You will be picked up from your hotel where you will have spent a night before the safari begin on day 1 of 4 days Mgahinga Gorilla trekking & Golden Monkey tracking safari tour and embark on the road drive towards western part of Uganda. Enjoy a stopover at the Equator for some experiments and photographs then proceed to Igongo cultural hotel for a lunch break. After lunch proceed your journey from Mbarara via Ntungamo as you view beautiful farms with Ankole cattle crazing. Head to kabale a beautiful district with plenty of thrilling and stunning hills and continue your journey to Kisoro where you will be transferred to Mgahinga gorilla national park for check in, refreshing, dinner and overnight as you close the 1st day of your 4 days Mgahinga Gorilla trekking & Golden Monkey tracking safari tour.

Day 2 of 4 days Mgahinga Gorilla trekking & Golden Monkey tracking safari: Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga gorilla national park
Gorilla trekking: Breakfast will be served as early as possible on day 2 of 4 days Mgahinga Gorilla trekking & Golden Monkey tracking safari tour, then pack all your gorilla trekking gears and be transferred to the headquarters of Mgahinga gorilla national park for a gorilla trekking safais briefing. After the briefing, hire a porter and penetrate deep into the forest for a gorilla trekking adventure. You will trek via different trails up and down the hill until you finally land on the habituated Nyakagezi gorilla family. Spend a maximum duration of one hour with the gorillas and later on meet return to the office to meet your driver for a ride back to the lodge for a relaxation a head of the next day’s activity of tracking golden monkeys.
On this day 2 of 4 days Mgahinga Gorilla trekking & Golden Monkey tracking safari tour, there is an option of Batwa trail after gorilla trekking.

Day 3 of your safari: Golden Monkey tracking in Mgahinga Gorilla national park
Golden Monkey Tracking: After breakfast on the 3rd day of 4 days Mgahinga Gorilla trekking & Golden Monkey tracking safari tour, meet your safari driver for a transfer for briefing again before embarking on this half day golden monkey tracking. Tracking golden monkey is more interesting and fun as the pretty little primates be jumping from one tree branch to another cheerfully swinging the tail. Unlike gorilla trekking, Golden monkey tracking allow travelers to capture the photographs even with the flash light of the Camera on. After tracking the golden monkey, you will return to the lodge for Lunch and have a relaxed evening or optional opt for a guided nature walk in the forest or the batwa trail in case you did do it the previous evening.
Note: Golden Monkey tracking on day 3 of your safari tour can also be substituted with a golden monkey habituation experience which is a full day activity.

Day 4 of your safari: Return to Kampala for departures
Departures: On this last day of your 4 days Mgahinga gorilla trekking & Golden monkey tracking safari tour, you have two options of departures one being a drive back to Kampala and transfer to Entebbe international airport while another one being a drive to Kigali international airport which is the shorter journey as compared to a drive back to Kampala. But the choice is probably yours.
