This 4 Days Nyungwe and Volcanoes Rwanda Safarii offers great encounter of the gentle giant ‘’the mountain gorillas’’ during your safari in Rwanda. Visit Nyungwe Forest National Park for chimpanzee trekking and enjoying guided hike to the canopy walkway bridge that raises 60-meter high. Then, later drive to Volcanoes National Park for your Gorilla trekking experience as well as enjoying a unique cultural tour to Ibyi’wacu village, known as the ‘’ Gorilla Guardians Village’’. The trip starts and ends in Kigali.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National park
Transfer to Nyungwe: Upon your arrival at the Airport, you will be welcomed by our driver guide take you through a short briefing about the safari or you will be picked by the driver from your hotel in Kigali and transfer southwards to Nyungwe Forest National Park. As your driving to Nyungwe you will have a stopover in Butare, where you will visit one of the museum found in Rwanda. Visit King’s palace in Nyanza with lunch en route.
Arrive at the park, check in at the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trek, Canopy walk and Drive Back to Kigali
Chimpanzee Trek: After enjoying breakfast, you will be picked by your driver guide to drop you to the headquarters for briefing before you enter the forest. You will be accompanied by the ranger guide in search for the active great ape in Nyungwe forest. The tracking experience can take about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on their movement.
Upon finding them, you will be allowed one hour to spend with them as they behaviors, feed, behave and capturing future photography. After locating them, hike back and drive back to the lodge to have lunch.
After lunch, head on a guided nature walk along the world’s popular canopy walkway bridge -enjoy swinging on the bridge that measures 60 meters in length which is suspended from large trees.
While on canopy walk experience, you will be able to view the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, viewing of wildlife species among others. Then after, connect to your hotel to spend the evening at leisure. The hike can take only 2 hours. Go meet up with your guide and drive back to Kigali.
Upon your arrival in Kigali City, you can choose to have your driver drop you off at your hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park – Ibyi’ ’wacu Village Tour
Transfer to Volcanoes: After having a relaxed breakfast served with delicious snacks at the hotel. You will then meet up with your driver guide and head out for a short tour of Kigali City –where you will visit unique sites like Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, Kimironko market and Caplaki craft village. Enjoy your lunch before driving to Volcanoes National Park where you will go visit the Ibyi’wacu village ‘’referred to as’’ the gorilla guardian’s village. Upon your visiting at the center, you will enjoy dance and culture performance from the local intore dance troupe and visit the former king’s palace.
Later drive to your lodge. Dinner and Overnight stay at the lodge.

Day4: Gorilla Trek and Transfer Back to Kigali
Gorilla Trek: On your last day, you will wake up early have breakfast with your packed lunch boxes and check out of the lodge. Your driver guide will drive you to the park headquarter for briefing at 7am. Your guide will lead you through forest trails to look for gorillas. The hike can take about 1 to 6 hours.
The trekking takes through the steep, bamboo slopes and then finally coming across the gorillas in their nature inhabitant, just know it’s a privileged moment.
Once you access the mountain gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them as you view their amazing behaviors and habits and capturing photography.
After gorilla trekking, you will transfer back to Kigali. arrive in the evening to be dropped off at the Airport or at your hotel in Kigali. End of the Tour.
