Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale forest national park
Depending on your point of location on the first day of the 5 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Kibale National Park. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours’ drive and on the way you will enjoy exciting views of the local people, farmlands, traditional homesteads, Rwenzori Mountains, tea plantations many others. You will have en-route lunch in Fort Portal and then proceed the journey to Kibale national park. Arrive and check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Kibale forest lodge-budget/ Chimpanzee forest lodge-midrange

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale national park and Bigodi swamp walk
After an early breakfast on the second day of the 5 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will meet up with your driver guide to drive you to Kanyachu Visitors Centre for chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing, you be accompanied by the park range who will lead you in search of the chimps, the trekking experience takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on their location. Once the chimpanzees are found, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn more about their life style, behaviors, watch them feed, play, hunt, fight, take photos and record videos with a flash less camera. After the one-hour experience with the chimpanzees you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide and drive back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will go for thrilling nature walk in Bigodi swamp where you will be able to view different primate species, birds, mammals, plant and tree species many more. After the swamp walk, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
On the third day of the 5 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to drive you to Bwindi impenetrable national park. On the way you will have en-route lunch and enjoy memorable views of the terraced farmlands, Kigezi hills, traditional homesteads, crater lakes among others. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma community rest camp-budget/ Buhoma Haven lodge-midrange

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Have an early breakfast on the fourth day of the 5 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari, carry packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the jungle which takes about 2 to 6 hours depending on gorilla movement in the jungle. As your trekking you will enjoy spectacular views of primates, animals, plants, bird species among others. On finding them, you will be permitted to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn more about their behaviors, watch them carry out their daily activities like feeding, breastfeeding, playing, take photos and record the moments to show people back home.
After the exciting moment with the mountain gorillas you will trek back to the meeting point where you will meet up with your driver guide to go for an optional cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the Batwa, learn about their culture, way of living, visit their homesteads, enjoy their cultural performances many others. After the cultural tour, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 5: Departure to Kampala
After breakfast on the last day of the 5 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your guide to depart back to Kampala. On the way you will have en-route lunch and enjoy views of the beautiful rolling hills, stunning scenery, landscape among others. Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at your hotel.
