Akagera national park natural setup is a woodland, grassland, and flat terrain bent towards Tanzania and Uganda in the east and north of Rwanda, respectively. This kind of vegetation is an ideal habitat for large herds of grazing mammals, with their predating carnivores closely following them in their footpaths. The flat terrain is so conducive for game-viewing safaris on a tour of Rwanda.
Notable wildlife species include elephants, buffalos, hippos, elands, giraffes, zebras, topis, waterbucks, rhinos, lions, leopards and a host of other mammals. Akagera national park is an Important Birding Area and conducive for bird-watching safaris in Rwanda.
