The 6 days Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi gorillas and Lake Mburo safari is an interesting adventure that will take you to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will be able to view animals like elephants, buffaloes, hippos, Uganda kobs, waterbucks among others. The safari will also take you to the misty forests of Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will be able to spend one hour with the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat and Lake Mburo national park where you will be able to view animals like buffaloes, giraffes, waterbucks, impalas, elands, warthogs, topi, zebras among others.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Depending on your arrival time at Entebbe airport on the first day of the 6 days Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi gorillas and Lake Mburo safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park which is the second largest national park located in western part of Uganda. On the way you will have n-route lunch and enjoy stunning views and upon arrival in the park, you will go for an evening game drive where you will be able to view different animals like buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs among others. After the evening game drive, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive/ lion tracking and afternoon boat cruise

Morning game drive,

After an early breakfast on the second day of the 6 days Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi gorillas and Lake Mburo safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive which is commonly done in Kasenyi plains. During the game drive you will be able to view animals like buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, warthogs, waterbucks, bushbucks among others which will be grazing in the open savannah plains, view predators like lions and elephants if you are lucky, view different bird species among others. After the game drive, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.

Afternoon boat cruise

After lunch you will go for an amazing boat cruise on Kaziga channel a water body that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. During the boat cruise you will be able to view large concentrations of hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, view elephants, buffaloes, warthogs among others drinking water along the shores, view water birds like hornbills, cormorants, kingfishers, bee-eaters, fish eagles among others. After the boat cruise which takes about 2 to 3 hours, you will return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

On the third day of the 6 days Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi gorillas and Lake Mburo safari, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park. On the way you will have a stopover in Ishasha sector where you will be able to view the tree climbing lions which will be lying up in acacia or fig tree branches during the game drive. After the game drive, you will have en-route lunch and then continue the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park

After an early breakfast on the fourth day of the 6 days Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi gorillas and Lake Mburo safari, you will carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to go for a gorilla trekking briefing at the park headquarters. After the briefing you will be allocated a habituated gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is well conversant with the trekking trails. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located.

During trekking you will be able to view other primates species, different birds, plant and tree species among others. Once the gorillas are found, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn about their behaviors, watch them carry out their daily activities, take photos and record the videos. After the one hour with the mountain gorillas, you will trek back to the starting point where you will be allocated a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking, meet up with your driver guide and return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Community tour and transfer to Lake Mburo national park

After breakfast on the fifth day of the 6 days Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi gorillas and Lake Mburo safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for an exciting community tour where you will be able to interact with the Batwa/ pygmies and the Bakiga who live in the neighboring communities. During the community tour, you will be able to learn about their culture, visit their homesteads, farmlands, craft shops, learn how beer is made from banana, how coffee is processed, listen to their ancient stories, participate in their traditional entertainments among others. After the community tour, you will return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Lake Mburo national park with stunning views on the way. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Morning game drive and departure to Kampala

On the last day of the 6 days Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi gorillas and Lake Mburo safari, you will have an early breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive where you will be able to view animals like giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, topi, oribi impalas, elands among others. After the game drive, you will drive out of the park and start the journey to Kampala with en-route lunch along the way. You will also have a stopover at the Equator where you will also be able to take photos and buy souvenirs.  From the Equator you will proceed to Kampala arriving early evening and upon arrival your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any place of convenience. End of 6 days Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi gorillas and Lake Mburo safari.
