Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National park
Airport arrival and Transfer to Nyungwe forest national park: on the day 1 of 6 day Rwanda primate safari, you will arrive at Kigali International airport before midday local time where you will be welcomed by Achieve global safaris company representative in Rwanda. You will be picked, briefing about the 6 days primate safari and offered your Itinerary to read through as you head to the hotel in Kigali for an enroute lunch.
After enjoying your lunch embark on a 5 hour drive to Nyungwe forest National Park a home to 13 species of primates including Chimpanzees, and different species of monkeys. Once at the park transfer to the park headquarters for a chimpanzee trekking permit and proceed to the lodge for Check in, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe
Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe forest: on the second day of 6 days Rwanda primate safari, you will wake up early in the morning, enjoy breakfast at the lodge, pack all you need for a chimpanzee trekking safari including snacks, drinking water and dress up in your appropriate hiking attire and meet your driver to transfer to the park headquarters for a pre trek briefing about what you expect to encounter in the jungle, the dos and don’ts, among others. Ensure that you hire a porter before setting off to the forest and you won’t regret it as a porter will help you in carrying your backpack and in case you get stack in muddy trails, a porter offers a hand until you completely finish your trek. Once you encounter with the habituated chimpanzees, ensure that you turn off the flash light as you capture those beautiful moments of our cousins that share about 98% of human DNA. Once you are done trekking chimpanzees, return to the lodge for an evening relaxation as you await dinner and have a rest for sound goodnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes national park
Transfer from Nyungwe to volcanoes national park: on day 3 of 6 days Rwanda primate safari, you will wake up on a relaxed breakfast and then pack all your belongings , check out of the lodge and meet the driver to start a long journey to Volcanoes national park within Virunga massif. Volcanoes national park is the only park in Rwanda where one can enjoy mountain gorilla trekking and golden monkey trekking. You will have an enroute lunch and then proceed to the park via park headquarters for the trekking permits. Continue to your lodge where you will arrive in the evening, check in and enjoy your dinner and have a good night.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes Np
Gorilla trekking: this is the most interesting day amongst all the 6 days Rwanda primate safari as you will have an opportunity to be with the gorillas for a full hour. On this day 4, you will wake up on a breakfast, pack the lunchbox and set up yourself with the best gorilla trekking attire then be driven to the office for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing, together with the tour guides and the rangers, you will trail deep into the forest in search of habituated mountain gorillas for trekking and after allocating them, have an hour of close interaction and photo taking. After all, return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner & Overnight.

Day 5: Golden monkey trekking and Transfer to Kigali
Golden monkey trekking: on the day 5 of 6 days Rwanda primate safari, you will enjoy your breakfast, and be driven to the park headquarters where you will be briefed before heading deep into the forest to spend an hour with golden monkeys as the swing from one tree branch to another cheerfully . You are free to take as much pictures as you want and even free to use the flash light in jungle.
Transfer to Kigali: After trekking golden monkeys, return to the lodge enjoy lunch, freshen up and check out of the lodge to meet embark on the journey to Kigali. Upon arrival in Kigali, you will check in at the lodge. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Kigali City tour and Departures
Kigali city tour: this day’s activity will depend on your flight details, in case you have an afternoon or night flight on your last day of 6 days Rwanda primate safari, you will wake up in the morning, have breakfast at the lodge then have a Kigali city tour where you will visit the Kigali genocide memorial sites where thousands of Rwandese were murdered during the 1994 genocide, visit the market and craft shops for some souvenirs and then return to the lodge for lunch.
Departures: after enjoying your lunch, check out of the lodge and be driven to Kigali International airport for departures to the next destination or back home.
