Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali international airport
- Arrival: on day 1 of 6 days Rwanda vacation safari, you will be picked up from Kigali international airport upon arrival and transferred to the lodge where you will spend your overnight.
- Meal plan: full board
Day 2: City tour and transfer to volcanoes national park
- Kigali city tour: on your second day of 6 days Rwanda vacation safari, you will enjoyed your served breakfast at the lodge in Kigali then meet your driver for Kigali city tour where you will visit the market places, visit craft shops and have a visit to the genocide memorial sites in Kigali before returning to the lodge for lunch.
- Transfer to Volcanoes national park: after having lunch, you will check out of the lodge and have a drive to Ruhengeri where you will have a stop at the volcanoes park headquarters for gorilla permits before proceeding to the lodge for check-in dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Gisenyi to explore Lake Kivu
- Gorilla trekking: on day 3 of 6 days Rwanda vacation safari, you need to wake very early , have breakfast, pack some snack with a bottle of drinking water and later on be transferred to briefing grounds where you will be introduced to gorilla trekking in volcanoes, the dos and don’ts and the expectation. You will then high a porter and start your adventurous trek to encounter with the mountain gorillas. This trek will take between 3-7 hours. After trekking gorillas, return to the lodge for a meal then check out of the lodge to meet your driver and be driven to Gisenyi.
- Transfer to Gisenyi and explore Lake Kivu: you will then be transferred to Gisenyi where you will spend your evening visiting Lake Kivu. Some of the activities to enjoy on Lake Kivu include boat cruise, swimming and nature walks. Late in the evening, you return to your lodge in Gisenyi have dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Half day in Gisenyi and transfer to Nyungwe forest national park
- Half day exploration of Gisenyi city: On day 4 of 6 days Rwanda vacation safari, have a cup of tea in the morning at lake kivu in Gisenyi then spend your time exploring Gisenyi city where you will visit some of the Rwanda genocide memorial sites, market center among others. You will then drive to the lodge for lunch.
- Transfer to Nyungwe forest national park: once you are done with lunch, you will check out of the lodge , meet your driver and use the remaining hours of the day driving to Nyungwe forest national park in gisakura where you will arrive in the evening, check in at the lodge in gisakura, have dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk
- Chimpanzee trekking: on day 5 of 6 days Rwanda vacation tour, you will have breakfast served as early as possible then be transferred to the assembly for a chimpanzee trekking briefing where you will learn the dos and don’ts while in presence of chimpanzees within Nyungwe forest a home to 13 species of primates. Remember to hire a porter, pack some water and snacks. Chimpanzee trekking last about 2-6 hours so expect to be back to your lodge in lunch hours.
- Canopy walk: this walk is also done in Nyungwe forest, expect to spend an afternoon walking on a 50m high canopy while sighting lots of wildlife species such as monkeys, elephants, bird species, different species of plants and an entire park at glance. This canopy walk takes about 2 hours however, you can request for other walking/hiking trails after the canopy walk since Nyungwe forest has lots of trails leading to various destinations such as waterfalls, rivers and many more. You will then be driven back to the lodge for dinner and overnight in gisakura.

Day 6: Return to Kigali for departures
- Return to Kigali: this being your last day of 6 days Rwanda vacation safari, you will enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your lodge then check out and exit gisakura for Kigali with an enroute lunch along the way. Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be transferred to Kigali international airport for departures back home or to the next destinations.
