Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale forest national park
Kampala to Kibale forest national park: Early morning on day 1 of 6 days Uganda primate safari tour (Gorillas & Chimpanzees), a company representative from Achieve Global Safaris will be at either at your hotel in Kampala/ Entebbe or at the airport ready to pick you up and set off on a drive to Kibale forest national park where you will be enjoying chimpanzee trekking adventure the next day. Along the way, you will be rewarded with different stunning views of flora, local people and many more. Enjoy your enroute lunch along the way and upon park arrival, check in your reserved lodge, grab your dinner and have an overnight rest.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Chimpanzee trekking safari in Kibale forest national park: After breakfast early in the morning on day 2 of 6 days Uganda primate safari tour (Gorillas & Chimpanzees), ensure that your backpack is well stocked with enough drinking water, snacks and many other items necessary while trekking chimpanzees then meet your safari guide/ driver for a drive to Kanyanchu to join other trekkers for a pre chimpanzee trekking briefing about the dos and don’ts during trekking and all the possible expectations during chimpanzee trekking. After briefing, you will be led into the forest to search for habituated chimpanzees in their natural habitats in Kibale forest. The trek lasts about 2-5 hours but keep in mind that once you find these chimpanzees, you will spend only 1 hour with chimpanzees closely interacting with them, taking photographs and later on exit the forest back to your lodge for lunch.
After lunch, relax at lodge and check out for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will enjoy your relaxed dinner and have a night sleep.

Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon kazinga channel boat cruise
Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park: After breakfast on day 3 of 6 days Uganda primate safari tour (Gorillas & Chimpanzees), you will be transferred to Kasenyi plains one of the best savanna part of the park where all day game drive safaris in Queen Elizabeth national park are conducted. During this day game drive, look out for several park dwellers including Uganda Kob, Elephants, Hippos, Buffaloes and many more plus several bird species, butterflies among others. Return to the lodge for a meal and set off on a thrilling afternoon boat cruise along the common kazinga channel for an opportunity to spot a huge school of Hippos pus other mammals that visit the water over hot scotching sun. After boat cruise, enjoy an enroute game drive as you head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

You will enjoy a stopover in Ishasha sector where you will have a brief game drive in search of tree climbing lions. Proceed with your journey direct to Bwindi impenetrable national park for dinner and overnight sleep.

Day 5: Uganda Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable national park: After breakfast on day 5 of 6 days Uganda primate safari tour (Gorillas & Chimpanzees), pack water, lunch box and wear your gorilla trekking gear. Meet your driver for a transfer to the trailhead of the sector you intend to trek in. you will find other trekkers ready for a briefing about Gorilla trekking where you will get all the possible information about gorilla trekking dos and don’ts before setting off on a 2-8 hours walk in search of the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitats. Spend just 1 hour with gorillas then return to lodge for leisure awaiting dinner and overnight. There is an optional activity of the Batwa experience.

Yes the distance is long but so rewarding with plenty of attractions along the way. Your first stopover will be in Mbarara city for lunch and the next stop at the Equator which is such a beautiful stopover for almost all travelers heading to western part of Uganda. Expect to arrive in Kampala in viewing for either drop-off at a hotel or airport.
