Detailed Itinerary
Arrival Day 1;
On day 1 of the 7 Days Kilimanjaro Climbing Safari via Machame Route, you will arrive in Arusha at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you will be met by our guide after passing through customs. Then, transfer to Mount Meru Hotel and have a comprehensive briefing and equipment check with your climbing manager and your guide. Dinner and overnight stay.

Trek Day 2: Arusha to Machame Camp
On the 2nd day of the 7 Days Kilimanjaro Climbing Safari via Machame Route, drive from Arusha to Mount Kilimanjaro National Park, passing by the village of Machame to meet your climb crew at the Machame gate.
As you start the gentle ascent, the trail winds through the verdant Afromontane rainforest that beards mountain Kilimanjaro’s lower slopes. You will go through moss and tattered lichen dangles from tall branches, tree ferns rest in soft cradles and begonias, busy lizzie impatiens and violas bloom almost every year in multiple colors on the forest floor. There are various bird species, and monkeys to see such as colobus monkeys, blue monkeys and other creatures – they can be seen in the forest. The camp to overnight stay is set amongst giant heather at Machme camp. Overnight stay at Kilimanjaro Camping.

Trek Day 2: Shira camp – takes approximately 4 -6 hours
You will leave the glades of the beautiful rainforest behind, and continue on an ascending path along a steep ridge onto heather-clad moorland. It is known as the heath zone and as the vegetation becomes sparser, attractive helichrysum and lobelia are the only plants dominating the harsh mountain landscape.
Various geological features can be observed, ranging from lava tubes to glacial valleys. You will have a picnic lunch along this trekking trail. After lunch, continue to trek up a rocky ridge onto the Shira Plateau. By now you can view the Western Breach with its stunning glaciers and fatter a short hike adventure. You will access the Shira camp. Your tent tonight can be referred to as a room with a perfect view’ looking out towards the snow-dusted Kibo peaks. Overnight stay at Shira Camp.
Trek Day 3: Take 6-8 hours
Barranco Camp
On the 3rd day of the 7 Days Kilimanjaro Climbing Safari via Machame Route, it is a walk high sleep low day. You will ascend into the alpine desert towards the main peak of Kibo, where the western glaciers become visible.
Enjoy a picnic lunch. If you feel very strong there is an optional ascent of the 300 foot tall lava Tower before descending to Barranco Camp in the afternoon, passing through the strange yet stunning ‘Garden of the Senecios’ ‘giant groundsel’, which is also the prettiest area of the entire trail. This is a long day but the visit you will head to this altitude in two days thus making it a great acclimatization day. Overnight stay at Barranco Camp.

Trek Day 4: Covers 4 to 5 hours
Karanga Camp
You will have a relatively short day to access Karanga camp, after reaching the intimidating Barranco Wall. Be prepared to use all four limbs as you traverse the wall to the top of the Karanga Valley. From here, you will follow a path that sojourns through many inclines and declines to Karanga Camp. Arriving in the late afternoon. Our selection of Karanga Camp is strategic significant time at altitude is essential forsake acclimatization.
You will enjoy the sunset here with spectacular views of the southern glacial valleys and ice fields towering over 3000 feet above you. Accommodation at Karanga Camp

Trek Day 5: Covers 4-5 hours
Barafu Camp
Today is another day of ascending to Barafu Camp. Once more, lunch will be taken in this high camp, allowing lots of time to relax before the summit bid. Desolate alpine desert and at times, strong winds rip over this camp, yet in the evenings enjoy rewarded views of Mawenzi Peak the norm. You will enjoy an early dinner before resting for the evening. Overnight at Barafu Camp.

Trek Day 6: Covers 7-8 hours’ ascent, 4-6 hours’ descent
Summit Ascent, Mweka Camp
Trek back, just before midnight for the final summit bid. There is a slogan commonly used ‘’Patience and persistence ‘’ – the name of the game to reach the summit, and this is the coldest, windiest section of your adventure.
Important of it by dawn, as the first rays of light start to appear across the Tanzanian landscape. You arrive near the edge at Stella Point, at an altitude of 18,652ft. Here, you will be rewarded with the brightest sunrise you are ever likely to see, appearing over Mawenzi Peak.
Ascending via Stell Point affords a relatively short final section to Uhuru Peak, the Roof of Africa. You can enjoy as many pictures as possible. After a short celebration at the summit, set off on the ebullient trek down. Go slowly and enjoy the stunning rainforest scenery as you head towards Mweka Camp.
Arriving before dusk – with every step the air has more and more oxygen although your legs will be tired and your heart will be light. Overnight stay at Mweka Camp.

Trek Day 7: Covers 3-4 hours
Arrive in Arusha
After breakfast, you descend once again through a beautiful montane forest and at around midday, after saying farewell to your crew. You will be picked up and transferred back to your hotel for a well–deserved shower and celebratory dinner.

Departure
On this last day of climbing adventure, you will have a dayroom to pack, freshen up and then get ready for your flight back home or your onward adventures in East Africa.
