Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Kampala city tour
- Arrival and Kampala city tour : On day 1 of 7 days mountain gorilla trekking safari in Uganda, Rwanda and DRC, you will arrive at Entebbe international airport where you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel in Kampala for check in and enjoy your meal. Depending your arrival time, you will spend your evening exploring Kampala city the capital city of Uganda. You will visit some markets, religious centres, and some craft shops and later on return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park via the Equator
- Transfer to Bwindi: On day 2 of 7 days mountain gorilla trekking safari in Uganda, Rwanda and DRC, you will enjoy breakfast then check out of the lodge and embark on a long but enjoyable and adventurous journey from the city of Kampala to the wilderness of Bwindi passing via lots of beautiful hills and encountering the local communities thus this journey is worth a trial. You will stop at the equator for photographs and experiments and on a lucky day you will watch some zebras as they graze near the road in Lake mburo national park then have another stop over at Igongo cultural hotel in mbarara and later on drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park a home to endangered mountain gorillas in the far south western part of Uganda where you will arrive in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi
- Gorilla trekking: On day 3 of 7 days mountain gorilla trekking safari in Uganda, Rwanda and DRC, after breakfast, pack a bottle of water and a lunch box filled with snack and be driven to the your respective sector head for gorilla trekking briefing . You will be briefed about the expectations during the trek, the dos and don’ts and then hire your porter of even two to assist you throughout the hikes in the jungle. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi lasts between 2-8 hours including one hour that you are given to stay close to the gorillas as you learn their different manner and taking photographs. Later on you will be driven back to the lodge where you will spend your evening at leisure or you may spend your evening visiting the local communities or taking part in batwa experience of Bwindi and then return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Virunga national park
- Transfer Virunga: On day 4 of 7 days mountain gorilla trekking safari in Uganda, Rwanda and DRC, you will enjoy a relaxed breakfast then check out of the lodge and meet your driver to exit Bwindi and embark on a journey to Democratic Republic of Congo where you will be expected to trek mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Lunch will be enroute but ensure that you are at the border before 12:00 pm where you will present your travel documents and the vaccination book in order to check in with the Virunga park head offices and obtain your gorilla permit and the Congo visa. You will then be driven to check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Virunga
- Gorilla trekking: as usual, you will start your day 4 of 7 days mountain gorilla trekking safari in Uganda, Rwanda and DRC with breakfast, pack a lunch box and water then wear your gorilla trekking gears, have a briefing and be driven to the nearest gorilla trekking trailhead where you will meet your rangers, porters and the, later on, penetrate the forest ins search of endangered mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking in virunga will last between 2- 7 hours and once you are done trekking the gorillas, you will return to the lodge for evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Volcanoes national park
- Transfer to volcanoes: On your day 6 of 7 days mountain gorilla trekking safari in Uganda, Rwanda and DRC, have breakfast at the lodge, pack your belongings and be driven the convoy to Goma a Rwanda –Congo border where you driver will pick you and you embark on the drive to Ruhengeri. Enjoy an enroute lunch and once in Ruhengeri, you will pass via volcanoes national park head office for gorilla permit and finally be driven to your lodge for dinner and overnight and you await yet another fascinating adventure of trekking mountain gorillas in Rwanda’s volcanoes national park.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park and transfer to Kigali for departures
- Gorilla trekking: This will be the third gorilla trekking destination after the first gorilla trek in Uganda within Bwindi impenetrable national park, and the second one in DRC with in Virunga national park. Well, after a morning breakfast at the lodge on your last day of 7 days mountain gorilla trekking safari in Uganda, Rwanda and DRC, you will attend a briefing where the particular mountain gorilla family will be allocated to you and other people since a family is trekked by a maximum of 8 persons. Hire your porter or two if possible and then start the adventure of searching for the habituated mountain gorillas in the wilderness of volcanoes national park. Gorilla trekking will take at least 2-5 hours depending on your fitness level and the gorilla family allocated to you. After trekking the gorillas, return to the lodge, have a bath, enjoy some meal and check out of the lodge to be transferred to Kigali. You will arrive in Kigali in the evening where you will be dropped at Kigali international airport for departures.
