Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On your day 1 of the 7 Days Rwanda and Congo Safari, you will be picked up from the hotel by the driver–guide, who will brief you about the trip as drive toward Volcanoes National Park. You will enjoy beautiful views of rolling hills and the beautiful green vegetation of Rwanda. On arrival at Volcanoes National Park, check into the lodge for dinner and overnights.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking – Volcanoes National Park
On day 2 of the 7 Days Rwanda and Congo Safari, you will report to the park headquarters in Kinigi after a delicious breakfast, carry a packed lunch for the briefing about gorilla rules, enough drinking water and trekking shoes, hat and gloves many more. Rwanda Gorilla tracking experience can last between 30 minutes and 6 hours and always make sure you’re putting on useful essentials like comfortable hiking shoes, a hat, a rainy jacket, long trousers and a skirt, carrying enough drinking water and energy-giving snacks many more.
When the gorilla family you’re assigned for, is being allocated one hour will be given to you to spend with them- as you get to learn about their behaviors, and habits, survive in the forest, play, and feed among others as well as unforgettable photo shoots and capturing videos.
After meeting the gorillas, you will hike back to the lodge for refreshment,s and later in the afternoon you do a village walk to Iby’wacu cultural community to understand more about Rwanda culture. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
On day 3 of the 7 Days Rwanda and Congo Safari, after enjoying your excellent breakfast at Nyungwe Forest National Park, you will visit Murambi genocide memorial site, Nyanza King’s Palace. On the way to Nyungwe, you will be able to view beautiful hills and vegetations. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Do Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk
On day 4 of the 7 Days Rwanda and Congo Safari, you will report to the park headquarters of Nyungwe National Park after breakfast. You will be briefed about Chimpanzee tracking rules. The chimpanzee rules are the same as for mountain gorilla rules. Chimpanzee starts early at 8 am and can last 6 hours, depending on their movements. You will be given one hour to spend with them, learn how they survive in the forest. As after hike back to the lodge for lunch and rest at the lodge.
Later on, go for a canopy walk where you will experience an impressive aerial view of the beautiful savannah, and watch various primates and bird life among others.
Day 5: Drive to Lake Kivu
On day 5 of the 7 Days Rwanda and Congo Safari, after breakfast, set off the journey to Lake Kivu a great site for a gainful view of beautiful rolling hills and thick green vegetation. Arrive in the evening at your reserved hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Nyiragongo Hiking Experience
Have morning breakfast and after, head to the park headquarters for briefing. After briefing, set off a hike to the summit. The hiking adventure can take 5 to 6 hours and lunch is prepared by the team of the park. When you access the summit – you will be able to view the beauty of the volcano, and splendid views overlooking Virunga National Park. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Descending to the Bottom
On your last day of the 7 Days Rwanda and Congo Safari, after having breakfast at the summit. Then descend down to the bottom where you will find a driver waiting patiently to transport you to Kigali Rwanda. You will check out with park offices and proceed to Kigali city for lunch and then drive to the airport for your flight departure.
