Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Arrival: On the first day of the 7 Days Uganda Primates Safari & Wildlife Safari, you will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala where you stayed the previous night, or at Entebbe international airport where you are expected to arrive early in the morning before midday as the journey from Kampala/ Entebbe is quite long taking roughly 9-11 hours’ drive. After being picked up, you will have a briefing about your 7 weekly safaris and have some refreshments before embarking on the long journey to Bwindi Forest National Park, the home of mountain gorillas.
Transfer to Bwindi: Start the journey to the extreme south western part of Uganda with a stopover at the Equator for some beautiful shots and another stop at Igongo cultural hotel for a meal. Then proceed the drive amidst hills and valleys of western Uganda up to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. Once you arrive, check-in at the lodge for dinner & Overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Gorilla trekking: This is the best day of the Safari. You will wake up in the morning, have your breakfast served and meet your driver to transfer to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking briefing which includes the expectations, the dos, and don’ts while in the jungle. You will need to move with your packed lunch box and enough drinking water to keep you hydrated throughout the day. Do not forget to hire a porter before setting off for the trek. While in the jungle you will spot different wildlife species including mammals, other primates and birds. And after getting in close vicinity top the gorillas, you will be offered one hour of close interaction as long as you maintain a distance of 7 meters between you and the primates. After gorilla trekking, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Game drive in the Ishasha sector

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park: day 3 of 7 Days Uganda Primates Safari & Wildlife Safari is yet another day to enjoy and spend some time with the tree-climbing lions within Queen Elizabeth national park. Wake on a relaxed breakfast at the lodge, then check out and meet the driver to start another journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Game drive in Ishasha Sector: Once you arrive in Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha sector, you will enjoy your lunch and have a game drive with in the ishasha sector where you will spot tree-climbing lions watching over the Uganda kob. After the drive proceeds to the lodge where you will check-in for dinner and have an overnight stay.

Day 4: Morning Game drive in Kasenyi plains and evening launch cruise

Morning game drive: On the 4th day of the safari, you will have an early breakfast and embark on an early morning game drive in Kasenyi Plain which is congested with lots of wildlife species including mammals, birds and the vegetation. During the game drive, you will encounter elephants, lions, Leopards, Bush pigs, Buffaloes, Bushbucks, warthogs among others. Return to the lodge and have lunch.
Launch cruise: Once you are done with lunch, you will have to embark on the Kazinga channel for an afternoon launch cruise where you will be sailing on top of the Kazinga channel while watching different wildlife species including Hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, among others. After the launch cruise, drive back to the park for dinner and have an overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale forest National Park

Transfer to Kibale: On day 5 of the 7 Days Uganda Primates Safari & Wildlife Safari, you will wake up in the morning, enjoy your breakfast, and meet with your driver to start a journey to Kibale forest National Park a destination that harbors 13 primate species. Upon arrival in Kibale, check-in at the lodge, enjoy your dinner and have an overnight stay.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking & Nature walk in Bigodi wetland

Chimpanzee trekking: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale starts early in the morning so on you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast and be driven to the park headquarters for briefing about the expectations, the do’s and don’ts while in the jungles. Remember to pack enough water for drinking and have some snacks before you start the expedition of trekking the chimpanzees in the wild. Once you get closer to the chimpanzees, trey to capture as many photographs as possible but try not to include a flashlight. Return to the lodge for lunch.

Nature walks in Bigodi Wetland: After having lunch, embark on an afternoon guided nature walk within Bigodi wetland sanctuary which is the best place for nature lovers. During the nature walk, you will spot out lots of fauna and fauna species including the water birds, botanical species, primates, and other mammals among others. After the nature walk, return to the lodge, enjoy your dinner and have an overnight stay.

Day 7: Transfer to Kampala / Entebbe for departures

Transfer back to Kampala/ Entebbe: This is the last day of your safari. You will have a relaxed breakfast at the lodge depending on your departures’ time in case you are flying to the next destination. Upon arriving in Kampala, you will have an enroute Lunch and do a brief city tour before transferring to the airport for departures to your next destination.
