This 8 Days Uganda Gorillas and Culture tour involves both the prime life experience of Uganda through engaging in mountain gorilla trekking and culture encounters. Your first activity to do on this trip will be visiting these unique mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Detailed Itinerary of the 8 Days Uganda Gorilla and Culture Safari

Day 1: Arrival and Pick up at the Airport

On day 1 of the 8 Days Uganda Gorillas and Culture Tour, upon your arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be welcomed by our company driver guide who will take you through a safari as you transfer to your reserved hotel for an overnight stay. Dinner and overnight stay

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

On day 2 of the 8 Days Uganda Gorillas and Culture Tour, after your tasty breakfast is well served at the hotel, our driver guide will pick you up and set off to Bwindi Impenetrable forest home to the world’s highest population of mountain gorillas. The journey is approximately 8 to 9 hours inclusive of stopovers the first one is at the Uganda Equator where you will experience the longitude at zero degrees Celsius, and visit the craft shop around the equator. After, continue to drive to Mbarara town for a picnic lunch, then proceed to drive through Kigezi highlands, rolling hills with beautiful scenery. You will arrive at the park in the evening check in at the lodge and relax. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable forest

You will wake up early and have morning breakfast your driver guide will drive you to the park headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorillas.

After the briefing, you will be allocated to an assigned group of gorilla families while accompanied into the forest trailing in search of them. Gorilla experience can last 2 to 7 hours depending on gorilla movements on that particular day.

Once you meet them with their inhabitants, you will be given one hour to spend with them to experience their lifestyle as well as take memorable photographs. Return back to the headquarters for your successful gorilla trekking certificates and drive back to the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Visit the Bwindi Cultural Trail and Depart to Lake Bunyonyi

 After your breakfast, a local guide will lead you to communities around Bwindi you shall follow one of the cultural trails by the communities co-existing with the gorillas just be ready to learn the lifestyle of these people, interact with them, and have lunch at the lodge.

Depart to Lake Bunyonyi in the afternoon, go for a boat cruise to visit several islands as well as view various bird species. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 5: Explore Lake Bunyonyi Island and Depart to Ankole Culture tour

 You will wake up have your morning breakfast, then go to explore the lake and learn more about different Islands with great history on how some people long ago used them as a dumping ground for lepers and another known as a ‘’punishment Island’’ where young pregnant girls were left to die for no reason.

You will also tour the 29 Islands found on Lake Bunyonyi, and engage in a cultural activity at an Island where you will have your lunch from with the community.

After having lunch, depart on the Ankole culture tour where you will get to learn how to milk Ankole cows, make ghee out of milk, and taste fresh milk made from these cows. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Explore the traditional homestead

 On this day, you will spend the night in this traditional homestead, where you will wake up early in the morning before morning breakfast.

You will join the herdsman in milking the long horned Ankole cows and this activity is done before the cows before you set off for the day. After this, Africa’s traditional way of milking cows, we return home for breakfast.

Then after breakfast, you will take a short walk through visiting more homes and different stops for views. Experience their lifestyle, food, and other native habits.

You will also have a chance to stop by a local school so you get to interact with the children if it’s comfortable to you.

Another option, you choose to join the herdsmen as they go to the field to graze the cattle. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park via a visit to the Igongo Cultural tour

You will wake up have breakfast say bye, bye to the Ankole community, and depart to Lake Mburo National Park via a visit to Igongo Cultural Museum.

While Igongo culture center you will be able to learn about the history concerning about the Ankole Kingdom. Continue to drive a short driving hour to Lake Mburo National Park.

Arrive at a time for lunch at the lodge. After driving to Lake Mburo for an afternoon boat trip where you expect to see Hippos, Crocodiles, Zebras, and Buffaloes among others.

 You will also have clear sightseeing of birdlife while on boat launch. Another option, you do a nature walk in the park with a ranger guide for close viewing of the animals. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Back to Entebbe for departure

 Wake up go for morning game drive, return for breakfast, and depart back to Entebbe International Airport for flight departure.
