Bisanadi National Reserve Kenya : Bisanadi National Reserve refers to as paradise unspoiled, located in the vast arid wilderness north of Meru National Park. The reserve hosts both hot and arid bush land -habitat to many species of mammals including elephants, lions, cheetahs, rhinos, buffaloes and truly a birder haven hosting over 400 bird species. Tourists who visit the place can go enjoy boating and fishing on the River Tana and Rujowero as well as camping under the brightening stars in this tough though beautiful area.
This game reserve was established in 1979 and has been managed by the Kenyan wildlife office tourists thus making their stay unforgettable by fishing at the Tana and Rujowero rivers within the reserve. The reserve’s size is enough for animal’s freedom to roam out of Mount Meru without facing human encroachment.
Note; Bisanadi National Reserve covers an area of about 600 kilometers squared arid wilderness.

Best time to visit;
Bisanadi Game Reserve is both hot and arid, therefore it can be visited throughout the year but those interested in a summer holiday is best done in drier months of January to March and June to October.
Where to stay;
Bisanadi National Reserve -currently has no accommodation inside but visitors can book their accommodation from the nearby towns of Mount Meru. Some hotels are Leopard rock safari lodge, Rhino River camp and Leopard rock lodge and others.
Getting there;
Road; The reserve can easily accessible via Meru National Park, Murera gate. Alternatively, you can access the park by use of domestic flights -organized to Korbessa Airstrip near Mount Meru National Park.
