Gorilla Tracking –Trekking
Gorilla trekking is quite an exception activity in the park that has impacted a lot on Uganda Tourism Hub through supporting the conservation areas and reserves within the country. As we see numbery of tourists visit Uganda purposely to trek mountain gorillas in their nature habitant of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest at a cost of USD700 per person per trek. Note without gorilla trekking permits you cannot be allowed to trek these mountain gorillas which can be bought in advance before your time of visitation to Uganda Gorilla Destination.
However, Gorilla trekking starts early in the morning with a briefing about rules and regulations about gorillas. After briefing at 8am, park ranger will group you in a group of 8 people. Then you will go to trek them in their nature environment accompanied with a ranger who will lead you through a thick forest of Bwindi, as you will be able to sight see other species that live in this forest such as colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, beautiful butterflies, notable birds among others, the activity can take 30 to 7 hours depending on the gorilla family movements. Once you locate the gorilla family you’re assigned in, one hour will be given to you to watch them as they play, behave, feed, survive along the day as well as enjoying video capturing and photography for your future remembrance.

Meanwhile, Buhoma region is not only best sector to trek mountain gorillas but also a great site for birding in Bwindi. Some of bird species to see includes; Cinnamon-chested bee eater, Common Bulbul, African Emerald Cuckoo, Fly catchers, African green pigeon, African harrier hawk, White tailed blue, African blue among others.
