Bwindi forest park biodiversity : Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park has a diverse of Species, amongst these are; 120 species of mammals like Mountain Gorillas, L’hoest monkey, Black and white colobus, Red tailed monkeys, vervets, African elephants, African Green broadbill, cream-banded swallowtail, 348 species of birds and among these Birds are un common shoebill, the yellow footed fly-catcher, white thighed horn bill, herons, ducks, fish eagles and king fisher, 220species of butterflies, 27 species of frogs, chameleons, geckos and many endangered species.

Floristically, the park is among the most diverse forest in East Africa, with more than 1000 flowering plant species including 163 Northern sector (low elevation) has many species of guino Congolian flora, including two endangered species, the brown mahogany and brazzeia longipedicellata.
The park is a sanctuary for colobus monkeys, chimpanzees and many birds such as hornbills and turacos. It is most famous for the 400 Bwindi gorillas, half of the world’s population of the endangered mountain gorillas. 14 habituated Mountain gorilla groups are open to tourism in four different sectors of Buhoma, Ruhiijja, Rushagaand the Nkuringo all under the management of Uganda Wildlife Authority.
