Bwindi Impenetrable national park prices : These are charges levied on each traveler depending on how they approach the protected area and what activity they want to do. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in the southwestern region of Uganda, on lowland covering 321 square kilometers and lies on high altitude of about 1,160meter to 2607 meter above sea level. Bwindi is bordered with Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Virunga Mountain in the west. Moreso, is renowned to be the world’s safari destination to see high population of mountain gorillas among other two Mountain gorilla destination in world that is Rwanda and Congo. Gorilla trekking is a half day activity encountered in the midst of the jungle accompanied with the park ranger and once gorillas are located an hour is given to the trackers to watch these famous species and as you’re tracking you will be able to spot other wildlife species because the Bwindi a home rich in species such as forest elephants, bush pigs, white and black colobus monkeys, bush pigs, birds, butterflies, different plant species among others .The park can be accessed by both land and air ,approximately about 9 to 10 hours of drive while by air takes an hour.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is regulated by ‘’UWA’’ Uganda Wildlife Authority ,a government body mandated to conserve all the protected areas in the country .It is this same body ‘’UWA’’ that levies the prices to all these protected areas .Since Gorilla trekking is the main key selling point to the world and you cannot do it without a trekking permits which are purchased from this body at their headquarters in Kampala ,however you can be helped by the trusted tour operator company to arrange for you all the procedures.
Individual Park Entrance Fees.
Note; All visitors are required to present in their valid identification documents to confirm the resident status.
Frees Quoted in USD ‘’Dollar’’ =United States Dollar and UGX=Uganda Shillings
A day’s entrance ticket is valid for ‘’24hours’’ from time of entrance.
Extra time spent in the park more than 24 hours will be charged as an extra day.
Children are persons aged between 5 -15years
Persons below 5 years are exempt
Entrance fees are independent of package activities like gorilla trekking tours, Mountain climbing, Birding and Nature walk.
Tariff fees are subject to change without prior notice.
Bwindi entry fees and all other fees are levied based on the status of a visitor; Foreign nonresident, Foreign resident and East African Citizen as listen below;
Adults are charged USD40 for Foreign nonresident, USD30 for Foreign residents and UGX 20,000 for East Africa Citizens as individual park entrance to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
Children are charged USD20 for Foreign nonresident, USD10 for Foreign residents and UGX5,000 for East African Citizens.
Pupils /students in groups ‘’East Africa’’ are charge UGX3,000 while student groups in tertiary institutions –universities are charged UGX5,0000 as park entrances.
Annual entrance Fee-Bwindi
You can choose to pay an annual park entrance fee to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. However, is an option open to Foreign residents and East African Citizens only. Foreign nonresidents do not qualify for this option. The Foreign Residents are required to present in their working permits valid for at least one year to qualify for this annual pass.
An individual pays USD350 for Foreign residents and UGX150,000 for East African Citizens to acquire an annual entrance fees to enter Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
A foreign resident couple pays USD500 and an East African Citizen couple are charged UGX200,000 for an annual pass.
A family with a maximum of four children pays USD700 for Foreign resident and UGX 300,000 for families of East African for an annual park to enter Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Annual corporate park entrance passes to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park expect to pay USD1,500 for foreign resident and UGX2,500,000 for East African Citizens.
Both a safari guide and taxi driver are expected to pay UGX100,000 as annual park entrance fees to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
A tour company driver is not charged to enter Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

The above fees applied annually to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park are to be paid by the Foreign resident in Uganda and East African Citizens and Vehicle entrance paid separately.
Not paid for package activities such as Gorilla and Chimpanzee tracking, Mountaineering, Hiking among others.
Foreign residents require a valid work permit for one year in order to qualify for an annual pass in Bwindi National Park
A safari Guide is a professionally trained and licensed individuals who guides guest through nature whether by vehicle, boat, canoe and horseback, quad bike.
Tour company driver; is a well-trained person from a recognized Uganda our company that drives tourist to the park.
Vehicles, Boats and Aircraft also have landing and entrance fees to be paid to the Uganda Wildlife Authority and are charged per entry.
Motor-cycles with foreign registration plates pay USD30 while those with Ugandan registration plates pay USD5.
Saloon Cars with foreign registration pay USD40 while those registered as Ugandan citizens pay USD10 only.
Tour company vehicles and 4-wheel drive vehicles pay USD150 for those with Foreign registration while the one registered as Ugandan Citizens pay USD15 only.
Over lander Foreign registration pay USD150 while those with Ugandan registration pay USD 50 to ‘’UWA’’ Uganda Wildlife Authority per entry.
Aircrafts landing fees are categorized in the same way, Visa varies for foreign and East African as explained below;
Up to 3 seaters, you will have to pay USD20 per landing.
4-6 seater foreign or East Africa pays USD30 per landing at Kihihi Airstrip in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
7-14 seater whether foreigner or East Africa pays USD40 per landing in Bwindi
15-20 seater foreigner or East Africa pay USD50 per landing
21 seaters and above are charged USD60 per landing.
Helicopters per landing pay USD100 for those that are foreign and USD125 for those that are Ugandan registered.
Parking fees is at UGX10,000 per day in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Important note to consider;
Vehicle and boat entry fees are paid per entry
Landing fees excludes entry fees payable by passengers
Pilots en-route do not pay entry fees who have spent in less than 2 hours in the park.
One planning to take part in gorilla trekking, a fee of USD700 for foreign nonresidents, USD600 for foreign residents and UGX250,000 for East African Citizens. It is advisable to book your gorilla trekking Safaris permits at least three months in advance, one can book up to two years in advances for your gorilla trekking permits. Bookings are done through the Uganda Wildlife Authority at their headquarters by help of a trusted tour operator of your choice. Note this, children under 15 years and not allowed to track gorillas. Only Children of 15 years and above.
Other activities in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
A nature walking experience costs USD30 for Foreign non-residents, USD15 for Foreign residents while East African citizens pay only UGX10,000.
Batwa tracking trails experience costs USD40 for both Foreign resident and foreign non-residents while the East African Citizen pays UGX40,000 to experience while in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
