A chimpanzee habituation permit is a legal document or card that is issued by Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) to visitors above the age of 15 years allowing them to visit a semi-habituated chimpanzee family and spend four hours with them in their natural habitat. A chimpanzee habituation permit in Kibale forest national park costs 250 USD per person for foreign non residents, 200 USD per person for foreign residents and 200,000 UGX per person for East African citizens.

A chimpanzee habituation permit in Budongo forest costs 230 USD per person for foreign non residents, 160 USD per person for foreign residents and 90 USD per person for East African citizens.
