A gorilla habituation permit in Uganda costs 1,500 USD per person for foreign non residents, 1,000 USD per person for foreign residents and 750,000 UGX per person for East African citizens.

How to book gorilla trekking permits in Uganda and Rwanda 2022/2023

There are two options of booking gorilla trekking permits in Uganda and Rwanda and the first option is booking directly through Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) a government body in charge of tourism in Uganda or Rwanda Development Board (RDB) a government body in charge of tourism in Rwanda. When booking the gorilla permits directly, you will contact the park headquarters through email or telephone calls inquiring about availability of the permits on your desired dates. If there are no permits on your date, you will be advised to choose another date that has availability. Once the date is confirmed, you will be asked to make payments for the permit directly to UWA or RDB accounts.
