Kibale River Camp is a budgeted safari accommodation positioned at the edge of Kibale Forest National Park. The lodge consists of prefect budget double tent, standard chalet, double room with extra bed, the beds are draped with a mosquito net.

Activities offered at Kibale Forest Camp

Chimpanzee trekking; This is the main tourist attraction that gives a great opportunity to track our closest relative cousin said to have 98% in their habitation of this rainforest. The activity starts early in the morning with a short briefing about chimpanzee rules. Then after, you will be accompanied by the park rangers to lead you through forest trail head in search for chimpanzees and the experience can about 30 to 5 hours. once they are allocated expect to see the chimps de-nesting ‘in their nocturnal nests’ between 05:30 to 06:30 pm, during the day till they make new nests and at night around 19:00. The activity is best all year round. Chimpanzee trekking experience takes about an hour to spend with chimps.

Chimpanzee habituation; This activity is done all day long and gives you a great chance to spend more time with chimps, as you learn about their feed, play, behaviors as well as enjoying memorable photography.

Guided nature walks and hiking; This nature walk takes you through an interesting trail head as you unwind fresh air right from Kibale forest. As walk along this forest trails, expect to sight see various bird species and other small primates among others.

Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary; Visit the Bigodi wetland a great location for bird viewing, primate viewing and a beautiful vegetation cover.

Birding in Kibale Forest; Kibale Forest is home to birding haven and some of birds to sight see includes; Little greenbul, Afep pigeon, African pitta, Green –breasted pitta, Blue-breasted kingfisher, Western micator. You can spot over 6 Albertine endemic bird species including; Blue-headed, purple-breasted sunbird, Dusky crimsoning, Red –faced woodland warbler, Black –capped Apalis and 4 endemic bird species like Blue-headed Bee-eater, Cassin’s Spine tail, Masked Apalis and the Nahan’s Francolin among others.

Crater Lakes Tour; While staying at the camp, you can choose to go visit these beautiful crater lakes just few drives from the lodge to the lake.

Accessibility; From Kampala to the National park takes about 5 to 6 hours’ drive and an hour flight by a domestic flight ‘’Aero link Uganda’’ from Entebbe International Airport.
