Gorilla trekking; This is an activity one shouldn’t miss engaging in on a visit to the lodge. It is can be done in one of the gorillas the four gorilla sectors in the park. While on stay at Mahogany Springs Lodge you just need a few walking minutes to access the meeting points of gorilla trekking. This activity starts early in the morning with a briefing about gorilla trekking rules. Then after, you will walk to the forest trails in accompany of park rangers to look for these rare great species. As your trek –searching for them, you will have a high chance of seeing other species that call Bwindi their homes such as colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, African elephants, buffaloes, and various bird species as well as listening to the sweet melodies of birds. The gorilla trekking experience can take 30 to 7 hours depending on the gorilla’s movements. But when you find the gorilla family you’re assigned one hour will be given to you to enjoy the amazing lifestyle of the mountain gorillas.
Getting there; From Kampala or Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park by car travel within 5 to 6 hours. You can use daily scheduled flights from Entebbe International Airport to Kihihi by Aerolink Uganda within 1:30 hours to land.
