Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is one of Uganda’s smallest national parks, located in southwestern region of Uganda, in Kisoro district bordering Rwanda and the December Republic of the Congo. The park derives its name from the local word ‘’Gahinga’’ the piles of volcanic stones cleared from farm lands at the foot of Volcanoes.
The park is the smallest among the 10 Uganda National Park, covering an area of about 34 square kilometers that is inhabit for dense forest for mountain gorillas. The lodge ranks with a beautiful nature which is surrounded by 3 mountain ranges; Sabinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura. More so, the lodge sits close to Mgahinga National Park and it takes only 20 minutes’ drive. From Kampala to Kisoro estimates 8 -9 hours drive to the park
From Kigali to Mgahinga it is approximately 3 to 4 hours drive through border crossing ‘’Kyanika border.
