Mountain Gorilla trekking is the most interesting and main activity which has attracted more tourists in Uganda because the National park has the biggest number of Gorillas in the East Africa and the world in general with 326 Gorillas.

Gorilla trekking in Uganda can be carried out in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park which are both positioned in southwestern Uganda that estimates about 9 to 10 hours’ drive from Entebbe airport or Kampala capital city.
There are three groups of Gorillas that are always accessed by the tourists each day; the Mubare group with 16 gorillas and a silver back, Habinyanja group with 23 gorillas with 2 silver back plus third group with 17 gorillas and 2 silver backs. The park is the best and safe Gorilla trekking attraction in Africa.
Uganda gorilla trekking tour gives you a great opportunity to participate in Gorilla habituation experience which is a full day activity with this unique creatures, this gorilla trekking activity can be carried out in Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Gorilla habituation is a whole day activity where gorillas are taken under a process of being trained 2 to 3 years till they get used to human presence. Therefore, trackers will be accompanied by the researchers, doctors, park rangers and once you access the gorilla group, you will be given four hours to spend with them as collect their samples for study purpose, learn about their life style as well as capturing photos in their nature habitat, compared to the one hour given during gorilla trekking.
Trekking of mountain gorillas on Uganda gorilla tours, one can choose to use air transport in case you do not like to travel long distance. You can book with domestic airlines in Uganda such as Aerolink which offers scheduled and chartered flights daily from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airfield to Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip. Gorilla trekking permits are sold in the park’s Headquarters and at the Head Offices of the Uganda Wildlife authority.
