New Airport Terminal at Entebbe International Airport : The new Airport Terminal at Entebbe International Airport; Entebbe International Airport is renowned as the only International Airport in Uganda, lied about 6 kilometers southwest of the town of Entebbe, on the northern shores of Lake Victoria. It estimates 40 kilometers by road south west of the central business district of Kampala ‘’Uganda’s capital city’’.
In fact, Uganda officially opened the new airport Terminal at Entebbe International Airport on Wednesday 10th January, purposely to cater to the increasing number of visitors in and out of the country.
The construction of the new terminal started May 2023 by Uganda People’s Defence Forces Engineering brigade began. It was set up to ease the traveling of both the general public and international travelers.
The exception features in the terminal includes elevators, air conditioning, firefighting system and a canopy. Visitors who are departing the country will have their luggage driven to the terminal and not lifted like how it was previously done.
We see, Gen Katumba Wamala, the Minister of Transport and works, Jim Muhwezi the Security Minister, Lucy Nakyoba the Chairperson of the National Organizing Committee for Non- Aligned Movement ‘’ NAM’’, and other UCCA official officiated the opening of the new terminal.
The new Entebbe International Airport terminal has made easy in the transportation of delegates for the NAM – G77 with conferences starting from the 15th to 20th of 2024 at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
The project of the final terminal linking to the new terminal will be fully completed by July 2024. The construction of a VVIP parking area and a new search area establishment is under way.
