Parkside Safari Lodge is the ultimate budget safari lodge on the outskirt of the famous Murchison Falls National Park which is a minute’s drive from the park. Activities Offered at Parkside Safari Lodge;
Game drives; This is the most done activity in Murchison Falls National Park by the tourists who visit the park and is best done in the northern sector in the early morning hours when big cats haven’t returned to their hideouts and the best time to see a bucket of animal species. Animals to explore include; herds of elephants and buffaloes, Oribis, Jackson hartebeest, giraffes, leopards, spotted hyenas, lions, warthogs, and kobs among others.
On a game drive, we recommend you use a 4×4 wheel vehicle with an armed ranger guide.
Birdwatching
Well, Uganda is one of the top birding destinations in the world for bird enthusiasts and the country hosts over 1095 bird species. However, Murchison Falls National Park is home to over 450 species of birds which can be viewed throughout the year. Though migratory birds can only be seen in November and April the best time for birding.
Community cultural visits
Uganda has got several different tribes ‘’52’’ and each with different cultural values. Murchison Falls National Park is also an ideal place for cultural tours surrounded by three tribes where tourists can visit and be able to encounter the African unique culture and learn many things as well as participate in day-to-day daily activities. Such as cultural dances which are often performed by different dance groups with crafts materials.
Boat cruise
On your visit to Murchison Falls National Park, you can go for a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile while on the boat cruise expect to cruise near to hippo pool and be able to view a school of hippos and water birds. Continue to cruise to the devil cauldron that gives a gainful view of its impression, take photography among others.

Along the nature walk life experience, expect to sightsee a variety of beautiful bird species including; crowned eagle, Grey-headed sunbird,chocolate-backed kingfisher, Brown twin spot, Blue-breasted kingfisher, African dwarf kingfisher, Ituri batis, Lemon-bellied crombec, Little green sunbird, Brown twin spot, Cassin’s spine tail, crested guinea fowl, White–spotted fluff tail, Yellow-crested woodpecker, Yellow-footed flycatcher, Sabine’s spine tail and primates species like colobus monkeys among others.
Chimpanzee trekking –Budongo Forest
This is an incredible activity done in the Budongo forest of Murchison Falls National park. the activity starts early in the morning with a briefing about chimp rules and regulations. Then after, the ranger guide will group you into a group of six and will lead you in search of them in their natural habitat. Chimp trekking can take about 30 to 5 hours, once they are allocated one hour is given to you to spend with them learning how they feed, play, hunt, and behave as well as having memorable photography.
