Things to do at Simba Safari Camp –Queen Elizabeth National park

Game drive; At stay to Simba safari lodge you can go for game drive which is best done to the northern sector of the game park along Kasenyi. However, Kasenyi is an open savannah area, home to hundreds of Uganda kobs. While on game drive, you will be able to sight see hungry lions in this area waiting to pounce on one of the unsuspected animals especially the prey -kobs. Other animals to see here include herds of buffaloes, elephants, giant forest hogs, warthogs, Jackson hartebeest among others.

Wildlife viewing at Mweya Peninsular; The Mweya peninsular is one of the major places to start a visit to Nyamunuka crater lake while on your game drive. The game drive here, gives you a fair chance of finding the elusive leopard and watching herds of elephants, waterbucks, warthogs, hyenas and the giant forest hogs are regularly seen while adventuring the Mweya Peninsula. The Mweya peninsular is so closely to the shores of the Kazinga Channel and do not get surprised you encountering a hippo grazing peacefully between the bushes in the early morning or evening. On the wildlife viewing, you will be able to spot various bird species such as the Black bee-eater, Verreaux’s Eagle-Owl, Malachite Kingfisher among others.

Boat tours on the Kazinga channel

The Kazinga channel sounds as a famous area within the park that connects between Lake Edward and Lake George and its said to be home to the world’s largest concentration of hippos. The boat tour on the channel offer you a chance to view hundreds of hippos laying lazy in the water. You can see crocodiles grazing on the shores of the lakes and also buffaloes and waterbucks come to the water to cool off. You can have chances of seeing elephants come to quench their thirst. More so, Kazinga channel is a truly birding hoven home to over hundreds of bird species like Kingfishers, Pelicans, fish Eagles, Cormorants as well as bright colored Saddle-billed stork among others.

Explorations of crater lakes

While on visit, you can go explore the beautiful series of dramatic craters and dry calderas in the hilly landscape thus getting rewarded with stunning views of the park and its surroundings. It is also a good place for birding and seeing of other wild animals which come to quench for thirst.

Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Wildlife Reserve

 Chimpanzee tracking is quite amazing activity that takes you into thrilling gorge of 100 meters deep and 16 kilometer long. However, the steep slopes were formed by the water of the Kyambura river thus making a beautiful contrast with the valley that is covered by lush riverine forest. While hiking through the gorge, you will have amazed of the sounds of the tree climbing lions, watch the red tailed monkey and other primates. You can also catch a glimpse of the beautiful forest birds while looking your way through the thick bushes as well as getting rewarded with a blanked of dense forest canopy.
