Queen Elizabeth National Park

A famous park for rare tree climbing lions ,located in western Uganda ,which was named after the royal Queen Elizabeth 11 of England and was established in 1954.Queen Elizabeth National Park is a renown savannah game with exotic  wildlife of about 95 species mammals such as unique tree climbing lions, African Leopards ,elephants ,hippos ,Chimpanzees ,Kobs among others .The park also is a home for bird lover that houses around 500 bird species such as Pink backed pelican ,palm nut vulture ,Grey winged robin chat ,Great blue turaco ,Crab plover ,Common sand martin ,collared pratincole ,shoe bill ,Yellow-bellied wattle eye ,yellow throated cuckoo ,Rufous bellied heron ,African finfoot ,African hobby ,Ayres’s hawk eagle ,Broad billed roller ,Caspian plover among others. Visit the park and encounter its main attractions that is, the tree climbing lions and its volcanic features such as Volcanic cones and deep craters. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

This is one of Uganda’s most incredible destinations for visitors, because of the great mountain gorillas and half of the population in that still exists in the world are found in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Bwindi Impenetrable national park is not only home for endangered mountain gorillas but also inhabits over 120 mammal species ,200 different species of trees ,220 species of butterflies ,27 species of frogs, geckos and chameleons and more than 350 bird species ,23 of them are endemic such as African Emerald, Short-tailed warbler, Blue headed sunbird, Common bulbul, African Blue and White-tailed Blue Flycatcher and Red-headed Bluebill many more. and other small primates like black and white monkeys, red tailed monkeys among others. The park is located in southwestern region in Kanungu district, approximately 9 to 10 hours to access the main destination. Lake Mburo National Park

Is Uganda’s smallest game park spanning with 370 kilometers square and located within close proximity of Kampala capital taking few kilometers of drive. Above all, as a rewardable scenery for photographers and bird enthusiasts. Moreover, a home to a variety of mammals such as beautiful zebras, hyenas, impalas, leopards among others and around 350 species of birds. The park’s surface also boasts with ancient Precambrian metamorphic rocks that have been existing over500 million years old, that acts as a tour for a geologist. Plus, other 13 nearby lakes, Lake Mburo forms part of a 50 kilometers wetland system and woodland. Lake Mburo National Park lies in western region in Isingiro district, estimating 3 to4 hour drive to access the park. Activities done include; Game drive viewing, horseback riding, nature walk, Bicycle riding among others.

Rwenzori Mountains National Park

The Rwenzori mountain national park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its  extraordinary natural beauty marking it one of the most pristine landscapes in the world ,where one wouldn’t miss to reach on Uganda safari as Uganda Game Parks .The park is located in the Rwenzori mountains on land covering over 1000 square kilometers .Visit now and experience the most thrilling hike of your life ,also boasts with breathtaking waterfalls ,high glaciers , the nine lakes in the valley ,number of flora and fauna ,various endangered species as well as captivating scenery .The park is positioned in Bundibugyo districts ,approximately 5 to 6 hours’ drive to be accessed from Kampala or Entebbe .

Semuliki National Park

Semuliki National Park is one of Uganda’s newest game park, made popular by the Sempaya Hot Springs. The hot springs are not for bathing as the water temperature measures over 1000 C. You can carry your eggs and enjoy your meal from here, this water temperature supports of boiling an egg in it as a test. The boiling of an egg takes ten minutes. The park has a stunning nature which is good for nature lovers, home for primates such as grey –checked mangabey, red tailed monkeys, chimpanzees, elephants, De Brazza’s monkey, pygmy antelopes and various notable bird species. It lies in western Uganda region in Bundibugyo on lowland tropical forest rich in diversity of flora and fauna in Africa.

Murchison Falls National Park

Murchison Falls National Park is one of the Uganda Game Parks which is a perfect safari destination because of the famous powerful waterfall in the world ,this water fall its where Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge to make a beautiful waterfall, with spectacular views of bubbling water and sighting of the Devil’s cauldron very attractive .The park is bisected with Victoria Nile that acts as means of transport to the park with ferry crossing and where other activities can be  encountered  in the park such as the boat launch to access you to the falls. Murchison Falls National Park forms as part of the Murchison Falls Conservative Area ‘’MFCA’’. Visit the park of the four big five ‘’Elephants, Lion, Leopard and Cape buffaloes’’ other species to see include Jackson hurt beasts, warthogs, water bucks, kobs, giraffes and over 450 beautiful bird species such as Secretary birds, rare shoe bill stork, Open billed storks, Black-bellied bustards, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Marabou stork many more.  Murchison Falls National Park is located in the northwestern Uganda surrounded with several districts of Kiryandongo, Masindi district, from Kampala capital takes 4 to 5 hours driving journey. Activities to encounter in here include; Bird watching, Game drive viewing, Guided Nature walk, Chimpanzee tracking in Budongo forest, Hiking of the falls, Boat cruise, Sport fishing, Sun bathing as well as Shoe bill tracking.

Kibale National Park

Kibale National Park is famously known as the capital of primates with over 13 individual species but the main species are the chimpanzees ,white and black colobus monkeys ,red tailed monkeys ,L’Hoest monkeys among others and other wildlife ,which makes it a great primates safari and over 70 mammal species  .It also has a beautiful tropical forest that harbors with high concentration of primates in entire East Africa .On visit we advise you to carry with you a rain coat or warm clothes ,because in the northern side of the park experiences a lot of rainfall during the months of March to May and September and November be sure not forgetting to carry essentials .The park is positioned in the western Uganda region ,estimating 5 to 6 hours’ drive from Kampala or Entebbe to main destination.

Kidepo Valley National Park

Kidepo Valley National Park is Uganda’s untouched touristic destination. Nevertheless, it is worth the long journey through the wild semi- arid region of Karamoja to witness such unmatched beauty. The park is located in the rugged savannah between Uganda’s borders with Sudan and Kenya ,covering an area of about 1,442 square kilometers ,home to over 77 mammal species such as spotted hyenas ,lion ,cheetah ,leopard ,wild dog ,giraffe ,zebra ,African buffaloes ,bat-eared foxes ,Rothschild’s giraffes ,elephants many more  and over 500 bird species such as   golden pipit , Jackson’s hornbill ,Karamoja apalis ,Northern carmine bee-eater ,Abyssinian roller ,chestnut weaver ,Fox kestrel ,Rufous chatterer ,White –bellied go –away bird ,purple grenadier among others .Kidepo valley is truly an ideal safari for game viewing .The best recommended vehicle to travel with 4 x4 wheel drive vehicle because of dirty roads to access the park. Kidepo Valley national park lies in Kaabong district and the best means of transport is by flight use a domestic flight from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airfield to Apoka Airstrip inside the park. The journey travelling to the park by road is bit tiresome since it takes full day drive. Highlight activities to do here include; Culture encounter with Karamojong people, Visiting the IK people in Mount Morungole, Game drive, Bird watching among others.

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is one of the Uganda Game Parks which is a dense forest inhabitant for the Unique endangered mountain gorillas and Golden monkeys, located in Kisoro region. This national park is not only an attractive destination to see the rare primates but also a significant cultural experience of these indigenous Batwa pygmies, a tribe of hunter gatherers who used to live with mountain gorillas in harmony and used to call this forest their home before gazettes it into a national park. Mgahinga Gorilla national park is such an impressive safari destination with three conical extinct volcanoes thus providing a gainful backdrop to the already beautiful scenery. Main activities to encounter on a visit in Mgahinga include Mountain gorilla trekking, Cultural encounter and Golden monkey tracking.

Mount Elgon National Park

The park is bisected with Kenya and Uganda borders, the Kenyan part of it was gazette in 1968 and the Ugandan part in 1992 covering the big side of it ‘’1110 square kilometers. Mount Elgon National Park is an extinct volcano with the largest surface area in the world. Still the best place for photographers and bird lovers, it also gives a great opportunity to sight see animals roaming around the mountainous areas, invertebrates and beautiful flora and fauna. More chances of vising a cave with beautiful ancient painting near the trailhead, visit the hot –springs in the former volcano craters and if time possible on you’re a visit do not miss to reach the Sipi falls.
